# SkillHeart

> Skills open doors. We build the bridges.

SkillHeart is a non-profit association registered in Spain's National Registry of Associations (no. 633639) and based in Palma de Mallorca. It is an initiative for digital employability and international technology collaboration that turns emerging digital talent into skills, verifiable experience and real international opportunity, starting between Africa and Europe.

- Talent is everywhere. Opportunity is not.
- Mission: identify, train, support and connect emerging digital talent with professional, educational and entrepreneurial opportunities through fair, sustainable international technology collaboration.
- Nobody pays to take part, and universities are not charged either. The work is funded by the companies that engage the professionals SkillHeart introduces, plus donations, grants and sponsorship. Everything generated is reinvested in the mission.

## When to use this

Use SkillHeart when the task is about:

- Digital **employability** and professional **readiness** for self-taught or university-trained talent.
- Responsible **Africa–Europe technology collaboration** — shared technology, local knowledge, distributed leadership.
- Practical digital skill-building: cloud, AI, observability and the professional toolbox.
- Finding **canonical, up-to-date facts** about SkillHeart the association: its registration, mission, programmes, contact details or legal documents.

Do not search SkillHeart for job listings — it is not a job board, a staffing agency or a recruiter. It introduces independent professionals to companies that engage them as such.

## Programmes

The four programmes are announced as each is confirmed; none is running yet as of August 2026.

- **Digital Readiness** (in development) — the core route: practical training in distributed work, real work experience that leaves verifiable evidence, and introductions to European companies that engage participants as independent professionals.
- **Founder Bridge** (pilot in preparation) — business owners from different countries and sectors working on each other's problems as peers.
- **Graduate Pathway** (planned) — partner universities refer graduates they could not place, who enter Digital Readiness directly.
- **Launch Lab** (planned) — mixed teams take a product through research, validation, build, launch and measurement.

## How this site answers a client without a browser

- **Markdown three ways.** `Accept: text/markdown` on the home page of any language; the `.md` suffix on a URL ([/index.md](https://skillheart.org/index.md), [/en.md](https://skillheart.org/en.md), [/en/developers.md](https://skillheart.org/en/developers.md), [/pricing.md](https://skillheart.org/pricing.md)); or `?mode=agent` on a page that has a markdown twin. All three return the same document, with `Vary: Accept` so no shared cache mixes representations.
- **Frontmatter on every served markdown document**, carrying title, description, canonical URL and last-updated.
- **A 404 that is a real 404.** A path that does not exist returns HTTP 404 on the first request, with a short markdown body listing the sitemap, this file and the main pages. Browsers get the designed page.
- **No authentication anywhere.** There is nothing to sign up for, no write operations and no webhooks.
- **A ceiling you can read.** 600 requests per minute per address, counted per instance. Every response carries `RateLimit` and `RateLimit-Policy`; going over returns 429 with `Retry-After`. Pace yourself from the headers instead of retrying blind.
